Primary and secondary schools have found STRIKE's teaching to be very effective and enormous fun for the students. Since 1999 STRIKE has honed its skills and techniques, bringing percussion music to students throughout New Zealand and more recently in China.
Teamed up with a STRIKE performance in your school, students are surprised, impressed, inspired — and then have the opportunity to learn in a workshop with STRIKE.
One week with STRIKE : Residencies open an in-depth learning experience for students
Immersed in the local school community for a week, STRIKE achieves high levels of participation, and provides wider guidance to schools and school music departments to develop ongoing percussion and other music-based skills.
The STRIKE Education Residency is tailored to suit the host school and its community
STRIKE undertake a series of concerts, workshops, masterclasses, and other initiatives over a week. They develop the teamwork and leadership skills inherent in musical performance and they inspire students to become active participants and audience members in the arts.

Percussion is a very adaptable music medium and workshops can be tailored to your students or your community, and to the physical space you have available. STRIKE have run open air workshops in a festival context, use classrooms or halls.
