Takumi Motokawa

Tak Motokawa of Strike percussion

Takumi Motokawa was born in Japan, and moved to New Zealand in 2000. Tak started playing piano from an early age, and is studying for a Bachelor of Music, majoring in performance percussion and composition at New Zealand School of Music. He has played professionally with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra, Vector Wellington Orchestra, National Youth Orchestra, Royal New Zealand Ballet and many other groups, ensembles and orchestras.

Tak works regularly with Strike and performed with them in China and Hong Kong in the 2007 season.

Erynne Gleeson

Originally from Brisbane, Erynne moved to Wellington to study at the New Zealand School of Dance. In 2003 she Choreographed a piece in collaboration with STRIKE for the NZSD choreographic season. In 2004, Erynne joined Footnote Dance and started working and studying part time with STRIKE. Since joining STRIKE full time in 2005, Erynne's performances have included festivals around New Zealand, Queensland Music Festival, Commonwealth Games entertainment and the Taipei International Percussion Convention in 2006.

As a returning member of Footnote Dance, Erynne still performs part time with STRIKE.

Steve Bremner

Steve graduated from the Victoria University School of Music in 2000 with a Bachelor of Music with Honours majoring in performance percussion and timpani. He is currently on contract with the New Zealand Symphony Orchestra as Associate Principal Timpani/Percussion, as well as being the Section Principal Timpanist in the Vector Wellington Orchestra. Steve has also performed with the Auckland Philharmonia Orchestra, the Southern Sinfonia, Stroma, the New Zealand Percussion Ensemble, Elaine Paige, Rob Guest, and John Rowles, as well as touring with the Royal New Zealand Ballet as part of Gareth Farr's "Smashing Sweet Vixen".

As a session musician, he has recorded with such groups as Crowded House, Rhombus, and Charlie Ash, in addition to playing on the soundtracks for The Lord of the Rings — The Fellowship of the Ring, and King Kong. Steve is also the drum technician for Shihad.

Steve was a member of Strike in 1997–98 and 2001–2002, and continues to perform with them on occasions.
