STRIKE are a leading exponent of New Zealand's classical percussion ensemble repertoire. They have commissioned and premiered works from many of New Zealand's foremost composers.
STRIKE began as a classically trained percussion ensemble and has evolved and incorporated influences from a large range of different genre.
Working with STRIKE is a fantastic experience — they approach music with a rare combination of enthusiasm, understanding, technique and utterly wild abandon that I find truly inspirational.

STRIKE premièred Gareth Farr's Percussion Concerto in the Celebrate Wellington Town Hall series, 2005.
STRIKE have performed all New Zealand classical ensemble programs within New Zealand and internationally and have appeared as soloists with the The NZSO Chamber Orchestra, the Auckland Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Vector Wellington Orchestra.
STRIKE have recorded with The NZSO Chamber Orchestra (Warriors from Pluto).
In 2007 a large enthusiastic group of local percussionists [in our Emerging Young Artist Programme Or-ches-trate!!] had the opportunity to spend 2 memorable days with NZs internationally acclaimed high energy group STRIKE.
STRIKE's skills, creativity, choreography and humor are world-class. They were able to challenge and extend the participants in a professional but fun way. Their patience ensured that no one was left behind- and their impact was immediate!
The participants joined STRIKE in the final concert to perform of a superbly conceived composition of Gareth Farr . To say it was exhilarating is an understatment!
